Custom lanyards require careful selection of options so you get what you require, when you require it, at a reasonable cost. Think about the type. Is it a custom neck lanyard or a custom keychain lanyard?

What is the Custom Lanyard for?

What is the intended usage of the custom lanyard? Is it for a few days use at a trade show or for extended use to hold id cards or badges in the workplace? Is the message or logo to be put on the lanyard intricate or simple. Are there safety requirements - for example sports use? What lead time can I give the supplier.

Custom Printed Lanyards

Custom Lanyards are sometimes called imprinted lanyards because the customization is performed as a printing process. A sample custom printed lanyard can be obtained in some cases. There are three common methods of printing used:

  • Dye Sublimation

    This is most durable and gives good quality for custom id holder printing of intricate logos and for a larger order achieves a good cost, however the order time is generally the longest.

  • Silk Screening

    This is of good durability and gives good reproduction. This method of printing customized lanyards is suitable for medium quantities.

  • Hot stamping

    This is more suitable for simpler logos and shorter usage, for example at conventions. This generally gives the quickest delivery and is a good choice for smaller quantities. Delivery time

Attachments

For custom lanyards there are a large number of clips, hooks and rings that can be used as attachments. Knowing your application choose between the common options of bulldog clips and J hooks, or go for a more exotic option to finish your customized lanyard. If you want a custom key-chain lanyard then you need to pick the right attachment - keyring, probably with a quick release.

Colors, Widths, Materials

If you are producing a custom lanyard then you can choose any color you require in most cases. Standard widths are available up to about 1 inch wide. You should also specify the length of the lanyard. The material used can be selected using cost and durability from a range of synthetic and natural options. Polyester and Nylon being a standard choice.

Artwork

Your artwork can be accepted by most suppliers in a wide range of formats. It is a good idea to approve the design before production is commenced.
